Nicholas graduated from the University of Cape Town’s Theatre and Performance programme in 2011. While at UCT he was nominated for the Fleur du Cap award for ‘Most Promising Student Actor’ for his performance as the title role in Geoffrey Hyland’s critically acclaimed ‘Salome’. The show achieved sold-out runs in Dublin, Brighton, Cape Town, Berlin and the Edinburgh fringe festival as well as the “King’s Head” theatre in London. His performance in “Between” won him best actor at the Dublin international theatre festival. The success of “between” also granted Nicholas an exceptional talent visa to the UK in 2014.

Whilst in London, Nicholas produced and starred in a sold-out run of Donna Hoke’s “The Way It Is”- directed by Emily Wyatt- at the Hen and Chicken’s Theatre in Angel. He also worked as assistant director to Sean Mathias while Sean was directing ‘The Exorcist” at the Phoenix theatre on London’s West End. Shannon Esra

Shannon Esra

Growing up in Johannesburg, Shannon Esra was cast in her first professional acting role at 16, playing Siri in the feature film I Dreamed of Africa, alongside Kim Basinger and Daniel Craig.

In 2003, Shannon graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dramatic Arts from the University of the Witwatersrand and found herself debuting in her first professional theatre production at Pieter Torien’s Monte Casino Theatre that same year. It may come as a surprise that the theatre is where she first cut her teeth; but it was her portrayal of Neets in Dorothy Ann Gould’s 2004 theatre production “Japes”, which garnered Shannon The Naledi Award for Best Performance by a Newcomer/Breakthrough (Female), as well as a Fleur du Cup nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

In 2007, Shannon made Bollywood history by being the first Caucasian female in a starring role, which saw her in a star-studded cast, as one of the six heroines in the Bollywood film Salaam-E-Ishq.

Shannon’s TV credits include an array of colourful characters. From the misguided, cult-following, self-mutilating girlfriend of Kyle Ortlepp, Yvette Meyer in Isidingo; the lead role of Caz O’Donough in MNET’s drama series Snitch; to the main credited cast member in the second and third seasons of the SABC3 drama series Hard Copy, playing hard-edged journalist Kim Smollen; as well as the dynamic, whip smart Samantha Mazur in The Lab. Shannon starred alongside Eric Stoltz, playing his estranged and embittered ex-wife, in the International Sci-Fi mini-series The Triangle; and she also played the romantic lead, Katie, in Darryl James Roodt’s rugby feature film Number Ten.

In 2015, Shannon returned to Isidingo where she played Angelique Scott (Indeed, she’s played two different characters on the same show!).  Shannon also starred alongside Daniel Radcliffe in BBC 2’s highly anticipated, The Game Changers in late 2015, and midway through 2016, Shannon was on set with Lawrence Fishburne, in the BET Biopic, Madiba.

In 2020, Shannon made unprecedented South African television history with her character Sandra Stein, the ruthless and sought-after criminal attorney. This character is so popular that writers and producers have supported her character crossing over to various shows on the Mzansi Magic platform – a first for South African TV! Sandra Stein has crossed over between The Queen, The River, The Throne and most recently, the latest Mzansi offering, Gomora.

Currently, Shannon can be seen on MNET’s Still Breathing, the gripping and deeply moving drama series about a group of old friends who have drifted apart but are suddenly brought together when tragedy strikes. Shannon is almost unrecognisable in her vulnerable, empathic and poignant portrayal of Candice Burton.

Effusive, dynamic, charming and wildly passionate about her craft, Shannon is not merely an actress who can portray a wide array of characters; she is also an outstanding public speaker, and voice artist, making her an asset to any event, production or commercial.

For bookings or more information on Shannon, please, get in contact with an agent at Owen S. Management on 011 483 0940 / [email protected]

Nic Huddy – USA

Nic Hudson Murdoch - USA

Nick studied Special FX and Sound Design at the South African School of Film, Television and Dramatic Arts in Johannesburg. With a passion for performing as well as working behind the scenes, he would often take small roles in student films and theatrical productions that he was crewing, causing much confusion for the grading bodies.

Nick started a career in standup comedy, combining music and impressions into his set and egged on by Tony Stewart at the Funny Farm who brought him into the weekly Thursday Night lineup. He later joined Joe Parker’s ranks and was a regular face on the Parker Comedy Tours, performing weekly at such venues as Carnival City, Emperor’s Palace, Roxy’s and the Junxion. This led to him doing celebrity impressions on the occasional radio spot and kickstarting a career in voiceover. During the day, he continued to work behind the scenes as the founder of Santa’s Workshop – a 3D animation and visual FX studio based in Johannesburg.

After completing filming on “Gums and Noses”, a feature presentation for M-Net, Nick accepted a position at Fox Studios Australia where he worked as a render artist in their Sydney offices. It was here that he met Nick Tate, a prominent voice actor who became his mentor in the commercial voiceover world and helped him to develop a client list, many of whom he still serves today. Determined not to work in a small, dark office for the rest of his career, Nick left Fox and returned to South Africa where he reestablished himself as a musician and an actor.

As an actor, Nick appeared in a few local and internationally flighted commercials, including the Simon Malls Gift Card campaigns in the US and the revitalized Lunch Bar ads locally. As a musician, he scored many of the tv shows and commercials on the air, including The Spirit of Africa Trophy, Love & Mortar and Rapt on SABC. He joined Stok, a musical theatre group, as a performer and composer where he appeared in several productions around the country. All throughout, he continued to work in voiceover, establishing himself as a character actor, promo voice and announcer, and lending his voice to many advertising and promotional campaigns around the world. Nick is now working in animation again, but this time behind the microphone. He is a student of Charlie Adler in Los Angeles and is voicing characters in several upcoming animated projects.

For bookings or more information on Nic, please get in contact with an agent at Owen S. Management on 011 483 0940 / [email protected].
