Nqobile “Nqobs” Shoba is a skilled voice artist in both English and isiZulu. Nqobile also works as a television promo producer and director.

After graduating from Rhodes University with a triple major degree in Drama, Journalism and Media Studies & Political and International Studies, she ventured to Johannesburg in 2010 and settled in the creative television industry as a Promo Producer.

Her passion for creative television expanded into a love of voice-overs, and she’s never looked back. Her home-grown, crisp, warm and charismatic voice, sees her being able to tackle numerous scripts and brands with ease. Professionalism, and a dedication to excellence, will see her elevating a script  to the next level.

Nhlanhla Buthelezi

Nhlanhla Buthelezi

Nhlanhla Buthelezi, otherwise affectionately referred to by his clan name, Shenge, is a language practitioner and polished communicator. His fluent usage of IsiZulu, Setswana, and English, to effectively convey diverse messages, has earned him appreciation from various sectors of society as a seasoned language enthusiast, writer, and voiceover artist.

He has been a sought after programme director and speaker at keynote community events, brand activations, schools, media launches, as well as corporate functions. His voiceover journey commenced in 2007, this, coupled with his work within the communication industry, has since established him as a fervent advocate and communicator with a deep love for Indigenous languages.

Buthelezi is a progressive rebel, passionate about people development, conflict resolution programmes, as well as key intervention strategies for youths and communities at risk. He advocates for the development of holistic socio-economic and cultural systems, as critical, and primary in the elevation of black impoverished communities from squalor. To this end, he works extensively with NGOs across the country, to create sustainable programmes of mentorship, to assist, equip, and train diverse members of society.

In his formative career, he established his footprint within the marketing and communications industry, as well as joint consultancy work within the private and public sector. He has done extensive work in brand strategy, advertising, as well as brand communications. He is also a published author.

He is married to Yondela MaDhlamini Buthelezi, together they are parents to Mlulamisi and Emihle Buthelezi. He resides with his family in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Petronella Tshuma

Petronella Tshuma

Petronella Tshuma is a multi-award winning and nominated Actor. Born in Francestown, Botswana, At the age of five Petronella and her family moved back to their home country of South Africa.

It was in a church in downtown Johannesburg in 1997 that Petronella fell in love with performing. Her very first introduction to acting would be the adaption of the nativity stage play. As her love for stage and story telling grew, she began to perform in school plays around her neighbourhood of Yeoville, Hillbrowand Berea.

In 2001, Petronella moved to the United Kingdom. She lived in the Southwest of England in Bristol and attended Filton High School where she majored in Drama. Her final performance was the hot and feisty Carmen in the hit musical FAME. In 2008 after two years of studying acting at SWADA she received her BTECH.

In 2011 Petronella first came to public attention when she made the Top ten finalists on the second season of the SABC1 talent search Class Act. Shortly thereafter, Petronella landed her first major role on Scandal! In the same year, Petronella attended the Durban International Film – and was approached by the Director and Producer's of the multi awarding winning film OF GOOD REPORT to play the character of Nolita which earned her a nomination at the South African Film and Television Awards for Best Actress in a feature film and her first win for Most Promising Actor at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.

Thus far, Petronella has worked on a number of films, to name a few; While You Weren’t Looking, Hatchet Hour and Tokoloshewhich can be seen on Netflix alongside Of Good Report. Petronella's latest film Clean Job is set for release this year on Amazon Prime.

She has also worked on numerous television shows such as, 90 Plein Street, Sokhulu amd Partners, Goodmen, Plintered Pieces, Isono and Rhythm City which earned her a nomination at the South African Film and Television Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Soap and a win for Best Actress in a Soap.

Petronella's huge imagination and love for play as a child was the catalyst into acting. story-telling was and still is the place she feels most confident and thrives bringing life and truth to the characters she has the privilege to play.

Thabisile Thabang Dlamini

Thabisile Thabang Dlamini

Thabisile Thabang Dlamini is an experienced voice-over artist, a creative writer & content producer and an aspiring musician. Her voice-over portfolio boasts an array of productions of radio dramas, commercials, public service announcements, promos for radio and television, corporate videos and podcasts.

Thabisile also has experience as a stage actor. After 2 years of training at the South African State Theatre in 2011 – 2012 she was in a musical as part of the Rain Of Art festival at the State Theatre; “My Richest Yard” directed by Ayanda Sithebe.

At only age 20 and still a 2nd year Media student she already had her byline in a national youth magazine with a monthly circulation of 600 000 copies; loveLife’s own UNCUT Magazine. She worked with UNCUT for three years being part of the editorial team and then began producing radio content for loveLife (the largest and most recognised youth HIV prevention NGO in South Africa). The content was translated and broadcast in all eleven official South African languages on all the nine African language radio stations of the SABC (South African Broadcasting Commission) and community radio stations across all nine provinces of the country.

2009 was a giant leap into digital media. Together with a New Media Consultant from New York City, Thabisile produced a first in South Africa - a youth mobile social network dedicated to social change, namely www.mymsta.mobi which has since been re-launched into www.ilovelife.mobi. This was also the year Thabisile worked with the HIV/Aids & Media Project, the journalism department at the University of Witwatersrand and the Perinatal HIV Research Unit; where she wrote a series of articles on "Fatherhood and Aids" after her father passed away from Aids in 2008. The articles focused not only on her personal story, she interviewed many other HIV positive fathers and their children. In 2012 the series was published and released internationally in a book called Uncovering Men: Rewriting Masculinity and Health in South Africa.

Thabisile currently writes for FunDza Literacy; her short stories are published by FunDza on the FunDza mobile app which is aimed at delivering good literature to young people who would otherwise not have access to it – thus encouraging a culture of reading in young South Africans. The stories address social ills and issues that young people face and are written not only to entertain but also to educate, guide and expand young minds.

She is currently working on her debut album, a unique sound fusing indigenous African instruments with poetry and pop. It’s set to be a first in the world promising to be a special work of art focused on healing the emotional body – a must for audiences who prefer to go deep.

Thabisile is a vibrant young woman with special gifts and a character that promises to keep her where her gifts will lead her to. Noms Hlongwe

Noms Hlongwe

Noms is born and bred from KZN, Richards Bay. She is fluent in both English and Zulu.

Noms’ broadcasting career started in 2010 when she began studying Media Studies and worked as a volunteer at neighbouring community radio stations In Meadowlands JHB. In 2011, she majored in Sound Engineering, continuing for three years and graduated in 2014.

Currently Noms works as a sound engineer for a Gauteng based radio station, often also recording voice overs for radio ads and even sometimes works as a copy writer.

Noms’ VO career comes mostly from Engineering VOs over the years, participating in radio station campaigns, gaining experience and broadcasting exposure from all media houses she’s been fortunate to work with.

Outside of been an engineers, voice artist and writer, Noms is the Director of a non profit organisation for mental health awareness and community care services.

Noms’ other hobbies include enjoying being a home taught cook and a blogger for healthy skin and general health.

Celia Ncalane

Celia Ncalane

Celia Ncalane, graduated from Wits University with an Honours degree in Bachelor of Arts and received distinctions in, Screen Writing, Drama and Education facilitation. Whilst a student, Celia represented Wits University as an actor, twice at the National Grahamstown Arts Festival.

She then began her career in 2006 as a presenter for 34 Degree's South on the Hope Channel for a year. The following year she worked behind the camera as a producer and scriptwriter for a production company that produced documentaries for Sabc 1 and 2.

In 2008, she was then chosen to be a presenter for a motivational program on Sabc 3, called ‘Stand-Up’. Since then she has acted in films, a television drama and comedy such as  ‘Stokvel’ and over the past ten years she has performed in numerous commercials for South Africa and the rest of the African continent for brands such as MTN, Orange, Royco, Purity and others.

As a professional voice over artist, she has promoted brands, such as Clicks, Checkers, @Home, Homechoice and Woolworths just to name a few. She has especially enjoyed, working as a children's storyteller and presenter for SAFM from 2014 to 2016 on a show called ‘Nali Bali’.

A definite honour for her was being chosen to announce the passing of the first black President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela on national radio; for two weeks encouraging the country to reflect upon his life and the values he inspired in us all.

Celia is a Zulu women, who is cheerful, peaceful and has a driven, never give up attitude, behind and in front of the camera.

Trevor Gumbi

Trevor Gumbi

Trevor Gumbi is a South African comedian, writer and actor best known as co-host (and voice over artist) of the Mzansi Magic entertainment magazine show Headline (2010-2013) and for his active and vocal Twitter account.

He also stars as Gideon Gwinyimbuzi, the dim-witted security guard that works at the reception of the apartment building, in the SABC1 sitcom Ses'Top La and hosted the Mzansi Magic travel show Msawawa True South with Trevor Gumbi.

Trevor also writes monthly columns for both the Campus Cosmo and the Cosmopolitan magazines, in which he portrays an agony Uncle and a helpful Professor. Trevor was voted one of South Africa's Twitter Kings in Cosmopolitan magazine's January 2011 issue.

With John Vlismas, he co-hosted a multi-day conference for Nando's in later 2005 and performed for a large internal launch for McDonalds in 2006. That same year saw him as a performer in the FNB Lifestart campus road show, travelling to tertiary campuses countrywide.

While outspoken and sometimes controversial, Gumbi is active in the corporate market, where he can be found entertaining executives and their staff with tailored material.

Gumbi has appeared at several major comedy events in the country, including performing at Oppikoppi, Rocking the Daisies, King-size comedy jams, Blacks Only, Laugh out Loud and Arts Alive comedy festival.

He has voice over experience on e.tv's animated series Jozi Zoo, can be heard doing skits on 5fm as "The black guy at a braai" and enjoyed success staring on his TV skit show for the Vodacom Super 14 rugby season as Offside Vilakazi on "The desk with Offside Vilakazi".

He was also seen weekly on the SABC1 celebrity entertainment show The Real Goboza and was a featured comedian in the January episode of the Comedy Central series Comedy Central Presents... Live at Parker's, in 2013.

Gumbi can currently be seen performing stand-up comedy on comedy club stages countrywide. His birthday is 23 November.

In 2014 he had a starring role as Thomas Gumbi - a humble man hailing from a township in Newcastle in love with Mpho, last born and only daughter of the Ledwaba family, a royal wealthy family - in the eKasi+ sitcom Van 'n Sit.

In 2016 he replaced DJ Sbu as host of the SABC1 game show Friends Like These, beginning with the fourteenth season. He also began starring in his own dark comedy-drama series, The Sober Companion, on SABC3.
