Sabelo 'Sabby' Mtshali

DJ Sabby, born Sabelo Mtshali, is the compass to all things urban youth culture throughout the continent of Africa. A voice that has been sourced out by various platforms across the world to speak on youth culture.

DJ Sabby is a name synonymous with trailblazing and premier radio. He studied Radio Production before being swept up by popular Cape Town radio station KFM and later held down a graveyard slot on 94.7 Highveld Stereo (now called 947). Following early success, DJ Sabby took further training as an intern within Y-Academy as an intern. After graduating, the broadcaster embarked on a legendary decade-long journey with YFM that saw him work up from the graveyard slot to drive-time with his ground-breaking and aptly-titled show; The Best Drive. The drive-time show made history as the longest-running drive show ever within YFM as well as on all urban radio within South Africa. The Best Drive received critical acclaim; racking up multiple “Best Drive Time Show” radio nominations within it’s 5-year run. Despite the pandemic, The Best Drive lived up to its name in 2020 with a seminal cycle that pushed its global footprint, capping the show’s exhilarating run on the highest of highs.

DJ’s Sabby’s international footprint in radio moves past The Best Drive. In late 2019, DJ Sabby joined the BBC’s radio show called #ThisIsAfrica, hosted by DJ Edu, as a correspondent profiling propelling African acts within the music space. The show is broadcasted across the world in over 50 countries. 2019 also saw him making history by being the first DJ on YFM to broadcast LIVE from the BBC’s Wogan House in London. DJ Sabby eats, sleeps and breathes radio and the results show within his building legacy. A legacy that now sees him at MetroFM, taking the reins of their flagship top 40 show.

DJ Sabby’s skills as a host move past his love for radio broadcasting with a formidable career as a Host across multiple platforms. His on-screen charisma has found him hosting several TV shows including SABC 1’s Bonisanani, Africa Magic Plus’ Unplugged, ETV’s #TheCulture, Soweto TV’s Babize Bonke, GauTV’sSlaghuis Cypher Ignition TV’s Celeb Rides to name a few as well as guest-hosting on shows like MTV Base Africa’s Newsish.

The consummate creative also had the honour of covering the MTV’s 2016 European Music Awards live from Amsterdam as well as hosting Vodacom’s Making Moves Virtual Conference in 2021.

With a voice as iconic and seasoned as Sabby’s it’s no wonder that he is a veteran Voice-Over Artist. Sabelo Mtshali is also the ever-crafty online content creator. The Best Life TV is a curation of the Sabby’s various interests within urban lifestyle, from music, current trends and podcasting to fashion and motoring fashion. As of 2021, The Best Life TV channel has amassed over 1 million views.

Morena Sefatsa

Morena 'Mo' Sefatsa

Morena "Mo" Sefatsa is a South African television presenter and voice artist best known as presenter of the e.tv youth programming block Craz-e, from 2002-2013.

He also presented Frenzy, Shiz Niz and Craz-e World Live on the channel as well.

Mo made his acting debut at the age of six in the 1995 feature film Cry, the Beloved Country, based on the novel by Alan Paton.

He later had a role in the film Beat the Drum and appeared in several television commercials before becoming the presenter of Craz-e on e.tv, a position he held for 10 years.

In 2013 he was the voiceover artist for the Mzansi Magic/Mzansi Wethu game show Ka-Ching.

Mo continues to pursue his music career as well as acting and voice over work.

Zesuliwe Habede

Zesuliwe 'Zesu' Hadebe

Zesuliwe Hadebe gained her acting experience at the University of Witwatersrand where she appeared in a couple of productions. Zesu then interned on Ukhozi FM on the Breakfast Show with DJ Sbu, from there Zesu has performed on camera in shows such as Generations and Home Affairs IV.

Zesu has used her acting and radio experience as leverage to expand her career to include a professional voice artist. Her English recordings can be described as having a rich, African tonality and she also delivers an authentic Zulu voice over. With Zesu's vast experience she is able to deliver in a wide range of styles, such as; conversational to hardsell and corporate to dramatic.

Thando Thabethe

Thando Thabethe

Born and bred in the city of lights Johannesburg, Thando had an insatiable desire to see her dreams become a reality, which saw her career begin at the tender age of 13. The realization that entertainment was her calling saw her star in various theatre productions before landing her first TV gig at the age of 14. This was merely the beginning of a revolution in the entertainment industry.

Thando discovered her love for radio at UJFM while at University of Johannesburg studying towards her Bcom Accounting degree, when asked she says, “Radio found me”. Thando found herself gradually making her mark on the airwaves. In 2010 she was head hunted by the YFM programs manager to join the biggest youth radio station in South Africa. Her Charisma and ability to connect with young people on a level many struggle to, saw her soaring from hosting a graveyard show to a primetime show in a matter of 6 months. Thando has since left YFM and joined 5FM in May 2014 where she was part of the afternoon drive show with Roger Goode giving us our daily dose of traffic, as well as hosting her own show "Beats By Demand" on Sundays between 10:00 & 14:00. From there Thando moved into the weekdays 10:00 – 13:00 slot hosting her own show, The Thando Thabooty Show, a year later she became the first female to host a drive time show on 5FM, The Thabooty Drive. In 2020, Thando moved to 947 and currently hosts The Drive with Thando on 947, weekdays 3pm to 7pm.

Thando Thabethe got her chance to move from theatre productions to on screen in 2010 when she landed the role of” Thando Nkosi” on the hit Sitcom “My Perfect Family” The show is ranked the 6th most viewed show and the 2nd most viewed comedy in SA with a viewership of over 3 000 000. The show went on to see a total of 3 seasons with Thando starring  alongside legends, Lillian Dube, John Lata and Baby Cele.

Thando starred in the lead role of Nolwazi Buzo in the biggest soapie in South Africa, Generations- The Legacy, which boasts close to 9 Million Viewers and the lead role of Zinhle Malinga in the upcoming feature film Love Lives Here. Hosting her own talk show Thando Bares All on TLC, which highlighted the extraordinary ways people live their lives. Other highlights include REYKA and BLOOD PSALMS on MNET and recently How To Ruin Christmas- The Wedding in 2020 and the sequel The Funeral in 2021, a series for Netflix.

Thando Thabethe has been highly requested for her MC work for various activations, both corporate and commercial around SA since 2010. Most recently she was the choice for the biggest CSI concert in the world, CokeRockCore and the biggest Hip-hop event in SA, Maftown Heights. She has also had the honor to host the biggest award ceremonies in South Africa, namely, The South African Music Awards and the South African Film & Television awards.

Thoroughly  involved within her community and very passionate about uplifting the girl child, Thando  hosts motivational talks in which she sheds light on her path in the hopes of changing other people’s lives, she adopts young girls annually for national take a girl child to work day, and raises funds for abused women & children through her annual Thando Thabethe Women’s Day Netball Challenge initiative.

Londiwe Dhlomo

Londiwe Dhlomo was born and raised in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal. Skilled in dance, singing and acting, she pursued a career in the performing arts industry and quickly proved to be a diverse artist.

She has performed in musicals such as 'Guys and Dolls', 'The Wizard of Oz' and ‘Little Shop of Horrors’. After receiving a 'Durban Theatre Award' for 'BEST NEWCOMER' for her appearance in the hit show 'Sing it, Sista!' and her supporting role in 'Little shop of horrors', Londiwe played Maid Marion in the Kickstart Panto 'Robinhood and the babes in the wood' and later played Princess Miranda in their production of 'Puss in Boots'. She went on to perform in 'Dreamgirls' understudying the role of Deena Jones and received a Fleur du Cap Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role as 'Texas' in 'Cabaret'. She excelled as one of the three Divas in Priscilla Queen of the desert earning another Fleur du Cap nomination. She recently understudied and played the role of Mrs Phelps in the international tour of Matilda the musical.

Beyond her extensive work on stage, Londiwe has been successful on screen in the telenovela 'Ring of Lies' and has lent her voice to advertising various products worldwide for Radio and TV.

Londiwe has been a leading female vocalist in shows such as 'African Footprint', '24hrs on Broadway', 'Blondes on Deck', 'Time Warp', 'Dolphins by Starlight', 'Bidvest' and many more. Gracing stages and screens worldwide, Londiweis an enchanting performer to watch.

Hlengiwe Lushaba-Madlala

Hlengiwe Lushaba-Madlala

Hlengiwe Lushaba-Madlala is highly motivated and passionate about the power which art has to rehabilitate and shift societal perception. The dignity of an African identity is a catalyst in much of her work which sees her confronting stereotypical constructs of the “black face” in performance.

A fervent originator, her body of work includes It’s Not Over Until the Fat Phat Lady Sings (SA, Paris, Bern, Belgium), Is This Africa? Put A Cross On The Appropriate Woman, Lest We Forget, Ziyakhipha... come dance with us and Ngicing'uBeauty (Searching for Beauty.)

Her 2006 Standard Bank Young Artist Award choreographic work, Ziyakhipha...come dance with us, was showcased at the National Arts Main Festival and went on to win the MEC Choreographic Award for Outstanding Original Work.

Collaborative works include What is Black Music Anyway / Self Portraits with Faustin Linyekula, commissioned by MOMA New York in 2012, TRAPPED with Princess Mhlongo for the National Arts Festival and the Salzburg Festival; Cabaret with Via Katlehong at the Theatre National de Chaillot, Paris; Highway to Heaven Paradise with Sdu Majola produced by Studios Kabako, which premiered at the Dance Dialogues Africa Programme in Germany in 2014 and played with great success locally after concluding the German tour.  

Theatre credits include Far From the Madding Crowd, Lost in the Stars, Hairspray, African Queens, And the Girls in their Sunday Dresses, Touch My Blood, Modus Vivendi, Gogo and Big Sister, Curl up and Dye, Baron Samedi, Music in the Air, The Story I’m About to Tell, In the End is My Beginning and Sophiatown. 

She has also appeared on screen in the film District 9 and on TV in Gaz’lam, Society, Greed and Desire and currently in Tjovitjo.

She is the co-founding member of an alternative performance space called The Plat4orm.

Pearl Modiadie is an award-winning television presenter, radio DJ, voice over artist, event MC and social media influencer.

Pearl has been a television presenter since she was a child when she presented on E-TV’s Craze Kid Television Show in 2007. Pearl has gone onto present on other television shows such as Sisterhood, Raw Silk, Expresso, It Takes a Village and the massively successful Zaziwe - A music talk show which occupied the prime-time slot boasting millions of viewers each week and which Pearl won a South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA) for Best TV Presenter.

Radio Highlights- The year; 2009 gave Pearl the opportunity to further explore her talent, this time behind the mic on Gauteng’s youth radio station YFM. She went onto bagging her own radio show called The Natural High on weekends between 00:00 - 03:00 between 2010 and 2011. The year 2012 proved to be fruitful when she was moved to another slot, this time hosting The Jumpstart, a weekend breakfast show between 6:00 – 9:00. 2015, Pearl moved to national radio station ,Metro FM, where she hosted The Lunch show between 12:00 – 15:00 on weekdays and then began co-hosting with Thomas Msengana. The radio station boasts just under 7 million listeners. Today, Pearl is part of the Primedia team and works as radio DJ at 947.

Pearl has proudly MC’d many high-profile events such as The SAFTAS, (The South African Film and Television Awards) MetroFM Music Awards, Mbokodo Women in the Arts Awards, Crown Gospel Music Awards and the Audi Festival of Motoring.

Dineo ‘Moeketsi’ Langa

Dineo 'Moeketsi' Langa

The National School of the Arts graduate beat out over 3000 contestants to the final stages of the O-Access presenter search to take the most highly coveted job in entertainment on the African continent.

But her talents go way further than that, she has previously sung backing vocals for Flash Republic, and showcased her skills in several roles, including Soul City 10 and the independent feature film Skyf.

She also impressed in her cameo role in Winnie, the story of Winnie Mandela and her supporting role in Jacob's Cross. Since then she has also presented O News and 411 for Channel O, V-Prime and V-Entertainment on Vuzu and was also the co-host of the 2011 Channel O Music Video Awards.

Dineo’s relaxed presenting style and professionalism was also showcased as she presented the Big Brother TV Final in 2011, and was V-Entertainment and O-Access's Red Carpet Host at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards.

From several high profile public speaking engagements, like being MC at Drum Magazine's 60th birthday concert and The Street Cred Urban Festival in 2011, to working as a voice-over artist for diverse clients such as One Gospel Channel to Kotex and even the Madam and Eve TV Pilot.

In 2012, Dineo reported from the red carpet at the 9th Annual Channel O Africa Music Video Awards. She also portrayed the character of Lindiwe in a South African science fiction police procedural television series, Room 9 and began Vuzu’s V-Entertainment alongside Lalla Hirayama, Siyabonga Ngwekazi and Thomas.

In 2013, she guest-starred on the second season of the SABC 1 sitcom, My Perfect Family.

In 2014, she appeared as herself in the Vuzu satirical mockumentary, Check Coast. In mid 2014 Dineo was a guest on the third season of e.tv’s talk show ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall. At the end of the year she co-hosted Mzansi Magic’s reality series, My Perfect Proposal.

In April 2015 Dineo began co-hosting e.tv’s talk show, Ekse Zwakala, October saw e.tv announce via their website that Dineo was joining the channel’s soap opera, Scandal!, where she portrayed the character of Naledi Thebe.

In 2016 - 2020, Dineo plays the part of Kea in Mzanzi Magic’s The Queen, moving in 2021 on to S3's (Previously SABC 3) The Estate playing the role of Mmakoena Molefe,  whilst continuing to lend her talent to MC and voice over work. Dineo shows a professionalism, versatility and passion in all her work. There is no doubt she attracts attention wherever she goes.

Bongani Masondo

Bongani Masondo

Bongani Masondo is a South African actor best known for his starring role as Bafana "Prince" Shabalala in the SABC1 drama series Tshisa, from 2006-2012 and currently as 'Babymaker' in Skeem Saam on SABC1.

Tshisa was his debut television appearance. Bongani grew up in Spruitview and  knew that economic sciences wasn’t his true calling in life.

After a year at University of Johannesburg, he rebelled against his parents for the first time in his life. “I fought with them for a week,” he says. “I wanted to go and study at AFDA. They thought that they suddenly had a rebellious kid on their hands and changed their minds about the economic science.”

Bongani loves art and believes in its power to transform. At school he did drama and sang in the choir. At UJ he started to explore contemporary dance. At AFDA he studied an Honours in Live Performance, majoring in Screen Acting. He recently starred in the international award-winning student short Elaleni.

A budding musician, Bongani is one part of the rap-duo Tu Black. The duo released their 1st single on 1 March 2017 and are currently touring.
