Chris Djuma

Chris Djuma

An Actor, voice Over artist, published playwright, theatre-maker and filmmaker trained at the renowned Market Theatre Laboratory in Johannesburg. As well with the renowned Paris-based collective theatre company Théâtre du Soleil through their École Nomade program.

His notable work in theatre has been starring in and alongside William Harding’s Kings of the World; creating and directing the inaugural Juneteenth Production for US Embassy in 2022. Directing for the Centre for the Less Good Idea’s Season 11 program in 2025, and having his play BANG BANG being staged at the Namibian National Theatre in April 2026.

In film, Chris played the central character of Albert, in the Norwegian film Safehouse directed by Eirik Svenson. He shared scenes alongside Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje in the US Showtime series King Shaka.

As a participant of the National Film and Video Foundation, Youth Filmmaker Program 2023. He wrote, directed, and starred in his debut short film Rearview. The film has been received successfully on the international film circuit, having made its European Premiere at the Eurasia Film Festival in Russia. Us Premiere at the American Black Film Festival in Miami, SOUL FEST in London, and AFRIFF in Nigeria. It has received 3 best short film nominations, with Chris also receiving a Best Actor nomination at the Fame Shorts Festival in Cape Town.

Chris has voiced the 3-part Animal documentary series, Game of Leopard thrones, some notable commercials, as well as Audiofile Magazine’s Best science fiction and fantasy audiobook of 2025 Death of the Author: A Novel by Nnedi Okarafor.

Chris’s is a third culture kid, of Congolese heritage, born in Geneva, Switzerland, and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. His complex upbringing has fuelled his curiosity and observations of life, society, people and himself. It is often through this perspective of being both an insider and outsider with which he creates work. He hopes that the projects he is a part of allows those who engage with t to reflect, introspect and be entertained, and the work that he creates is impactful, daring and of a global standard.

Swankie Mafoko

Swankie Mafoko

Swankie Lerato Mafoko is a celebrated South African actress, facilitator, and cultural storyteller whose work spans television, theatre, film, radio, and community engagement. Born in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, and trained in Johannesburg at the National School of the Arts (NSA) and the University of the  Witwatersrand (Honours in Dramatic Arts), Swankie brings both rigorous craft and lived sensitivity to her work.

Audiences widely recognise her for her standout role as Lydia Twala in the hit Netflix Original series How to Ruin Christmas, where she starred alongside industry legends Nandi Nyembe and Desmond Dube. Her screen credits also include Isono (BET Africa), uMbali (eVOD), the SAFTA-nominated film Tiro, SABC 2’s Muvhango (2025), and numerous other SABC productions such as Keeping Score, Single Galz, Rented Family, and Shreds & Dreams.

With over 13 years of theatre experience, Swankie has performed in and contributed to powerful productions that interrogate youth identity, gender-based violence, mental health, and women’s empowerment—many of which were commissioned by the NFVF. She was part of the internationally acclaimed production For Colored Girls by Ntozake Shange, which premiered at the Joburg Theatre and later toured internationally, including performances in Moscow, Russia, where it deeply resonated with non-English-speaking audiences.

In 2024, Swankie joined Mzansi Magic’s Our Perfect Wedding as the Season 14 presenter, taking over the reins after Laconco. Travelling across South Africa, she led the series through diverse celebrations of love, tradition, and cultural expression, bringing warmth, elegance, and narrative depth to one of the channel’s most beloved franchises.

Her love for language and voice also extends into voice work: on the Netflix Original Meet the Khumalos, Swankie served as the lead voice dubbing artist for Khanyi Mbau’s character, showcasing her vocal precision and her ability to embody character across languages and performance forms. Beyond the screen and stage, Swankie is a trusted facilitator and moderator. She has worked with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, leading meaningful conversations in both rural and urban communities across South Africa. Panch Gasela

Panch Gasela has been in the entertainment space  since he was 16 years old. Throughout the years he has shown drive and exponential growth in both stand-up comedy and acting.

His stand up comedy talents have lead him to grace the stage on Grab the Mic (Comedy Central), Funny People South Africa (SABC2) and Laugh Africa festival. While his acting prowess has seen to him starring in televivion dramas such as Justice Served (Netflix) and Soon Comes Night (Netflix). He has also done several advertising campaigns for various brands, including KFC’s Beyond The Sea campaign for which he won a Loerie Award for Best Performance in a Film (2024). Nambitha Ben-Mazwi, also known as “Lady Nam,” is an award-winning actress, entrepreneur, style icon, and global activist. A University of Cape Town graduate with an Honours degree in Business Science, she was recognized as one of the top 5 entrepreneurs in South Africa by Accenture Group in 2019.

As the founder of the women’s empowerment movement #SheSpeaksByLadyNam, Lady Nam has used her platform to inspire and uplift women worldwide. She has built a successful media company, NambithaBM Media, and made history as the first South African with six Netflix International credits. Thato Dithebe

Thato Dithebe is a South African actor best known for his role as Neo in the e.tv soapie House of Zwide. Hailing from Krugersdorp in Gauteng, he attended Maragon Private School before furthering his studies at the University of the Witwatersrand, in 2019.

He made his professional screen debut in 2016 when he was cast as a presenter on SABC1's youth block YoTV, in the shows YoTV Land and YoTV Live. In 2020 he began hosting the Channel O lifestyle show GenZ, as President Thato.

Thato made his acting debut in a cameo role on the SABC2 sitcom Gauteng Maboneng in an episode that aired on 29 January,2017 (Season 3, Episode 12). He next had a guest starring role in an episode of the BET sitcom Black Tax which aired on 25 February, 2020 (Season 1, Episode 7). A guest starring role in the 1Magic drama series Unmarried followed, in Season 3, Episode 7 (which aired on 20 May, 2022).

The role of Neo in House of Zwide came next. Originally credited in a first season episode as "Alex's Team Member" (Season 1, Episode 251), he began recurring from Season 2 onwards. In the show his character is a charismatic, confident charmer who takes a strong interest in Ona (Nefisa Mkhabela), despite the fact that she has a longtime boyfriend, Soka (Linda Nxumalo).

In the same year he had a guest starring role in an episode of the Mzansi Magic soapie The Queen (Season 7, Episode 37), which aired on 13 September, 2022.

Thato landed his first starring role in television when he was cast as Tshepang, an Amapiano star who leave home to find his fame and fortune, in the Mzansi Magic drama series Kokota and later joined One Magic’s telenovela “Champions”.

Thabang Mashiane

Thabang Mashiane is a trained actress with a BA in Live Performance which she obtained after a three-year course at Afda. Her training began in high school, at Curro Heuwelkruin, under the guidance of Nicole Senekal with the focus being in Stage Performance. She graduated high school with two prestigious awards in the creative arts, and an opportunity to perform at Woordfees 2017 through the National Arts Competition.

In the same year she started her training at AFDA: School of Creative Economy, with her major being Live Performance, throughout her studies at Afda she broadened her skills by co-writing scripts alongside Screenwriting and Directing students. She graduated with an award as Best Actor in Television 2019 and two film writer credits.

She has since continued to sharpen her acting skills while also assisting in different departments on film sets, in order to broaden her understanding of the process of filmmaking as well as starring in short films throughout the last few years.

Thabang is passionate about storytelling and the impact it has on the socio-economic climate of the world at large. She constantly working towards becoming a multi-faceted creative with strong sense of social awareness, keen skills in acting and screenwriting, and the ability to adapt to all mediums of performance with great ease, knowledge and skill.

Dineo Nchabeleng was born in Pretoria and spent most of her childhood in the Eastrand, where she completed her nursery and primary schooling. She later completed her high schooling at the National School of Arts, majoring in classical music. Her career began at the young age of 7, making her among the few budding child stars in SA at the time.

Dineo Nchabeleng kick started her career with international feature films My Brother The Egg & Beat The Drum (won over 20 international film awards). She then went on to presenting on Sabc 1’s yo.tv : Blue Couch and Sabc 2’s School Tv.

After a few years of working her way up, she made it onto South Africa’s biggest soapie (at the time) Generations. Dineo Nchabeleng quickly became a ‘house hold favorite’ and after 4 years on the soapie she ventured onto new things. End Game (sabc 1 political thriller series), Dream World S2 (SABC 1 rom com), Thandeka’s Diary (SABC 1 comedy), Family Secrets (SABC 1 drama) and Soul City are amongst the shows she later went on to be a part of on the SABC show roll.

From budding child star to lead role on award winning Ring Of Lies (Mzansi Magic telenovela S1 & S2) and #FeesMustFall activist character on another award winning show Lockdown (Mzansi Magic series S3). The Magic In Motion academy produced a popular movie called ‘Sofa Silahlane’ where Dineo Nchabeleng and fellow ‘Ring of Lies’ co-star Bohang Moeko, tell a tragic love story with the pair as leads and veteran actors like Seputla Sebogodi amongst them.

She also played a character on Etv’s Gold Diggers (S2) alongside the likes of Owen Sejake and Clementine Mosimane.

Dineo Nchabeleng has had a consistent career in prime time television and continues to entertain viewers all while being a mother to her daughter. She is currently 31 years old and recently featured on EVOD SA original action feature film ‘Whatever It Takes’ as lead, which has won a SAFTA 2023 in the category: Best Made For TV Movie. She was also recently featured in two Mzansi Original Movies: Mjolo Ke Pandemic and UmshadoWethu. Behind the camera, Dineo is a creative and working to make a name in the production side of the industry.

Emmanuel Castis

Emmanuel Castis

Emmanuel Castis is a South African actor, singer and presenter with an extensive career spanning television, film and theatre. With over two decades in the industry, he is a familiar face locally for his work across a wide range of productions and platforms.

He first became a household name in South Africa for his role as Steve Stethakis on the long-running soap Isidingo. Since then, he has appeared in numerous television series including Scandal, Broken Vows, Erfsondes, Binnelanders, 7de Laan, The Queen, Trackers, and The Girl From St. Agnes, as well as international titles like Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, and Warrior. He won a SAFTA Award in 2018 for Best Supporting Actor for his work on Erfsondes, and was previously nominated for a SAFTA in 2013. That same year, he was also nominated for a Naledi Award for Best Actor in a Stage Musical for his portrayal of Nick Massi in Jersey Boys.

His stage credits are extensive and include starring roles in Mamma Mia, Jersey Boys, Grease is the Word, Rocky Horror Show, Cinders & Her Fella, The Rivonia Trial, and Macbeth. Most recently, Emmanuel was part of the original development cast of the new Broadway musical Mandela, which recently finished a season off the West End.
