Thando Myeni
Thando Myeni is a magnetic force in the new wave of African storytellers redefining the global entertainment landscape. A bold and vibrant performer with an innate flair for storytelling, Thando’s artistic journey began in the school halls of Johannesburg South, where he first discovered the transformative power of performance. Fuelled by a deep passion for narrative and human connection, he has since committed himself to the craft of acting with relentless dedication and vision.
In 2018, Thando took a decisive step in refining his talent by enrolling in the prestigious BA in Dramatic Arts program at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), one of South Africa’s leading institutions for performance studies. There, he immersed himself in classical and contemporary acting methods, theatre history, and performance theory—gaining a strong technical foundation and developing a sharp artistic instinct.
His pursuit of excellence led him to the Indigo View Advanced Actors Programme in 2021, where he trained under some of the country’s most respected industry professionals. During this intensive programme, Thando explored the complexities of Shakespearean performance, honed his on-camera technique, and mastered the subtleties of voice, movement, and scene study. This rigorous training cultivated a performer capable of shifting effortlessly between stage and screen, drama and genre, vulnerability and power.
Thando’s unique voice—both literally and artistically—has already begun to resonate on international platforms. He was cast in Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire, Disney+’s groundbreaking African animated sci-fi anthology, where his voice brought depth and dimension to a visionary story. He also appeared in the critically acclaimed Netflix South African series Justice Served, and took on a notable role in the indie feature film Loved Out, further showcasing his range and emotional intelligence on screen.
Whether performing in front of the camera, behind a microphone, or on the stage, Thando embodies a rare blend of charisma, discipline, and authenticity. His presence is at once grounded and electric—able to captivate, challenge, and move audiences across continents.
Driven by a desire to tell stories that matter, Thando Myeni is not just a performer—he is a conduit for culture, identity, and transformation. With every role, he reaffirms his place among the next generation of globally relevant African voices ready to reshape the narrative and expand the reach of African artistry on the world stage.
