Emmanuel Castis is a South African actor, singer and presenter with an extensive career spanning television, film and theatre. With over two decades in the industry, he is a familiar face locally for his work across a wide range of productions and platforms.
He first became a household name in South Africa for his role as Steve Stethakis on the long-running soap Isidingo. Since then, he has appeared in numerous television series including Scandal, Broken Vows, Erfsondes, Binnelanders, 7de Laan, The Queen, Trackers, and The Girl From St. Agnes, as well as international titles like Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, and Warrior. He won a SAFTA Award in 2018 for Best Supporting Actor for his work on Erfsondes, and was previously nominated for a SAFTA in 2013. That same year, he was also nominated for a Naledi Award for Best Actor in a Stage Musical for his portrayal of Nick Massi in Jersey Boys.
His stage credits are extensive and include starring roles in Mamma Mia, Jersey Boys, Grease is the Word, Rocky Horror Show, Cinders & Her Fella, The Rivonia Trial, and Macbeth. Most recently, Emmanuel was part of the original development cast of the new Broadway musical Mandela, which recently finished a season off the West End.
His film credits include; G20 (2025),The Shakedown (2024), GreytownGirl (2024), A Family Affair (2022), and Happiness if a Four Letter Word (2016) among others. His work spans genres and formats, from indie shorts and local drama to international streaming content.
Also a musician, Emmanuel released his album South of Nowhere and has performed at venues around the world both with his band Dalliance and as a guest artist with the US group Vanity Fair.
