Shiba Mazaza - CPT
Shiba is a Cape Town based artist.
29 year old British-Malawian Shiba Melissa Mazaza began her career as a voice over artist in 2010 when she was scooped up for a year-long contract with Elle Magazine. Aside from becoming a foodie and fitness fanatic, today she works as a freelance writer and media manager for creative brand Unknown Union under CEO Jason Storey and Creative Director Yasiin Bey aka Mos Def. Restless and constantly seeking new ground to break, she has also taken on a role as contributing editorial writer for New York-based Okayafrica.com and UK based TRUEafrica.co in her spare time. She also has enjoyed inspiring roles such as media liaison for singer Toya Delazy and The African Consciousness Institute, and mined arts festivals such as Design Indaba, Weheartbeat, Littlegig and Encounters Documentary Festival for inspiration, writing and curating event lineups and creative projects. She is currently exploring the inner workings of independent radio and podcasting under Jon Savage’s The Eye.TV and Sound Africa.
Voicing energising campaigns throughout the years, 2016 saw her give her best for clients such as Woolworths along with Hugh Masekela and Pharrell Williams, also enjoying stints on harder sell campaigns as the voice of Standard Bank, WeChat, Levi’s and Kia; as well as showing her softer side with Bio Oil, Johnson’s and Spree.
