Khotso K Manaka

Khotso K Manaka is a musical actor who was born in Soweto, Johannesburg. Growing up in the township gave him the opportunity to learn to speak different languages, interact with different cultures, this in turn helped him develop the love of storytelling.

At the age of 9 he was part of the Thabang ka Mminoproject where he learnt music and performed his first solo “Plea for Africa” at a packed Regina Mundi Church. In 2006, he was a part of the Wits University Drama School outreach programme where he attended workshops, trained and worked very closely with TsepowaMamatu, participating in many plays including performing in “Mbeki and Other Nightmares” at the Grahamstown National arts Festival.

In 2015, he moved to Cape Town seeking international work in the industry and landing a role in “The Crown S2” where he was directed by Stephen Daldry. His South African TV debut was in the commercial; ‘‘Man of Action” for Carling Black Label where he worked with the great director Ian Gabriel.
