Phathiswa Magangane
Phathiswa Magangane is a versatile voice-over artist, singer-songwriter, presenter, and marketer with a rich and dynamic journey that spans two continents. Originally from Springs, Johannesburg, Phathiswa recently returned from New York City, where she completed her Master’s degree in Marketing at NYU. She capped off her studies with a powerful performance of the U.S. national anthem at Radio City Music Hall and the Beacon Theatre for her graduating class.
While in New York, Phathiswa built an impressive marketing career at Samsung Electronics America — and when she wasn’t at her desk, she was behind the mic, voicing campaigns for global brands like Apple and Sanlam, or performing on stage. A chance encounter with a YouTuber on the streets of Manhattan led to a viral singing moment, catching the attention of South African music icons Zolani Mahola and Jesse Clegg. This paved the way for unforgettable performances at Carnegie Hall, Gramercy Theatre, and beyond, sharing the stage with artists like Nicholas Petricca of Walk the Moon and Darren Criss of Glee.
Before New York, Phathiswa earned her BMus in Vocal Jazz Performance at UCT, where her talent was already making waves. She co-hosted the university’s YouTube show You See TV, won the presenter search for Hectic Nine-9, and lent her voice to campus radio as a newsreader. She also emerged victorious in the LiquiFruit #FeelFullyAlive song-writing challenge — the latter featured on South African television.
Whether speaking or singing, Phathiswa is ready to elevate your next voice-over project with authenticity, skill, and unmistakable flair.
